Use the most marketable word.

Why the pressed and calorie-packed rectangle of nuts, grains and fruits? Why the "energy bar? " — The answer regards marketing: A brand works hard to position its energy bar as a convenient, tasty, healthy and energy-dense snack that helps the consumer stay on the move.

"Energy" is simply another word for "calories." So, "calories bar" would be accurate. But, by using the word, "energy bar," the marketing promises the consumer will be energized, and able to continue with the day — or with the workout.

Ultimately, energy bar is more marketable than calorie bar. Ultimately, for whatever product is being sold, categorize it accurately — but use the most marketable word.
